‘He’ll have his chance next year’ – Leeds player gets to work immediately: Room for him next season? Opinion

Elland Road is probably a bit flat at the moment, following defeat in Leeds United’s play-off semi-final against Derby County this week.

A result that means Marcelo Bielsa’s side will need to prepare for another season in the Championship, and sit by and watch Aston Villa and the Rams battle it out for a Premier League spot later this month at Wembley.

Despite the obvious disappointment, one Leeds player is determined to get himself in the best shape possible ahead of pre-season, with an Instagram post from teenage striker Ryan Edmondson, showing that pre-season has already started for him.

So can we expect a big season from Edmondson at Leeds next season?

We discuss……..

George Dagless

“I think so.

“I was a little surprised to not see more of him in the side this season at times but there we are.

“He’s seen Clarke and co. excel in the side and I think he’ll have his chance next year.”

Louie Chandler

“Definitely.

“With Bamford and Roofe’s form both dropping off towards the end of the season the striking role in Bielsa’s side is up for grabs.

“If he can impress his boss during pre-season then there is no reason he shouldn’t start.”

Gary Hutchinson

“Yes, absolutely.

“There’s a few talented Under 23 players who might just make a difference next season.

“They’ll all be hoping Bielsa stays, he’s been the catalyst for a lot of progress.”
