New Nottingham Forest manager Martin O'Neill will need to get his feet under the table quickly at the City Ground, as he looks to prepare his side for the visit of Bristol City at the weekend.

Of the many selection decisions facing him, he will need to decide whether 35-year-old former Republic of Ireland striker Daryl Murphy is selected to start at the weekend.

So will the international history between the two, lead O'Neill to select Murphy at the weekend?

We discuss.....

George Dagless

"He'll be tempted.

"Murphy obviously has the Irish connection but O'Neill needs to ensure any sentiment doesn't get in the way of the best team selection.

"Murphy has played well of late, I could see him in contention for sure."

Gary Hutchinson

“Yes.

“He knows him from his Eire days and will surely want to go with people he can trust.

“It can’t be at Grabban’s expense though.

“He’s the best striker in the division on his day and also has to play.”

Jay Taylor

“It depends on what system and tactics that Martin O’Neill wants to go with.

“Does he want the ball to be on the deck more or will be go more direct looking to win knock-downs and flick ons?

“If he goes for the latter, then Daryl Murphy will almost certainly start.

“But I have a feeling top-scorer Lewis Grabban will be given the reigns up top to score the goals Forest fans will be craving.”
