Birmingham City midfielder David Davis has penned a contract extension with the club.

The versatile central midfielder signs a one year extension to his deal, meaning that he will now stay at the club until the summer of 2021.

The 27-year-old has been a regular this season under three different managers in Harry Redknapp, Steve Cotterill and Garry Monk, playing 41 games in all competitions and scoring three times.

Davis has played a key role in Birmingham’s survival, which was confirmed on the final day of the season against Fulham with a 3-1 win.

Now he has been rewarded with a new contract and he will be looking to add to his 167 appearances and 11 goals for the West Midlands club.

Birmingham fans took to Twitter to share their opinions on the extension for Davis and the consensus is that they hope he can now kick on and help the club compete for promotion.
