Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka is finally getting a tune out of his squad, with his side up to sixth in the Championship, just four points off leaders Leeds United.

It is quite an achievement for Karanka, as he looks to keep one of the largest squads in the league on song, both on the pitch but also off it, motivating those squad players on the fringes of the starting XI.

With such a large squad, chances for youth can be few and far between, but which youngsters should Forest fans be most excited about?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

Can Ryan Yates still be classed as a youngster?

He’s not near the first team but his displays for both Notts County and Mansfield showed a real maturity.

If he doesn’t get a game same he’ll be looking elsewhere, but he’s got what it takes to play Championship football right now.

Karanka just needs faith.

George Harbey

Arvin Appiah by an absolute country mile.

The 18-year old recently came off the bench against Burton to net his first professional goal for the Reds, and he’s also been ripping it up for England’s under-19 side too.

He'll be a class player in the future.

Jay Taylor

The obvious one is Arvin Appiah, he is an England U17 International and has a tonne of potential.

He made his Forest debut in the 3-2 League Cup defeat to Burton last week and scored.

That has given the club’s support a glimpse into what he can do and he will certainly get them excited.
