Helder Costa has sent a message to Leeds United fans on social media, after making his debut for the club in the win over Bristol City at the weekend.

The 25-year-old came off the bench in the second half as the Whites began their season with a convincing 3-1 win at Ashton Gate - thanks to goals from Pablo Hernandez, Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison.

The Portuguese winger joined Leeds from Wolverhampton Wanderers last month, signing a season-long loan deal at Elland Road, which is due to become a permanent transfer next summer.

After the game, Costa posted three photos from the match on his personal

Costa joined Wolves on a permanent deal from Benfica in January 2017 after a successful loan spell and played a key role in their promotion from the Championship in 2017/18, scoring five goals and providing six assists.

The winger could make his first league start for Leeds against Nottingham Forest at Elland Road on Saturday lunchtime and will be hoping to make an impact.

The Verdict

I think Costa will turn out to be a fantastic signing for Leeds and I'm sure fans would have been pleased to finally see him in action for his new club in the Championship.

He's a skilful, exciting player and will add another dimension to Leeds' attack. He's not afraid to get stuck in either and will provide the Whites with more intensity.

The winger has got plenty of experience in the Championship too and I'm sure Leeds fans would have been encouraged by his display against Bristol City at the weekend.

He didn't have too much time to make an impact, but showed glimpses of his quality and troubled the Bristol City defence with his blistering pace.
