Following the Deadline Day signing of experienced centre back Michael Hefele from Huddersfield Town, Forest manager Aitor Karanka now has a dilemma whether to stick with Danny Fox a player with many similar qualities to Hefele.

Fox who agreed a deal back in April to keep the 31-year-old defender at the City Ground for another season, has overcome injury and a vast amount of competition for places, to establish himself in the heart of the back four.

So will Reds boss Karanka stick with Fox or go with his new man? Should Fox be ousted for Hefele?

We discuss.....

Why should he?

Danny Fox has had a good, solid start to the season.

He played particularly well in the draw with West Brom last Tuesday and he should not immediately be ousted from the side.

New signing Michael Hefele needs to get his head down in training and bide his time as he competes with Fox for a starting place.

Reward success and consistency and don’t swap him out because you’ve made a fancy new signing.

I think the plan for this season will be to pair Tobias Figueiredo with Michael Dawson but they have some superb options now.

Hefele adds some steel and strength to their defence so he will definitely be pushing for a starting spot.

Aitor Karanka might look at moving Danny Fox back to left-back to accommodate the towering German.

And it is easy to forget that they also have Joe Worrall competing for a starting spot as well.

Gary Hutchinson

I think so yes. Hefele hasn't been signed to sit on the bench, has he? Neither has Michael Dawson and that all points to Danny Fox being dropped.

It is a shame, I don't think he's done too much wrong, but the by-product of evolution is that some get left by the way side. I bet there's a few other Championship clubs who would take him on loan, if the chance arose.

George Dagless

I don't think so.

Fox has been the regular centre-half so far this season so I can't see him budging any time soon.

I think Hefele is more a squad player than a first-team regular to start with anyway.
