Birmingham City manager Garry Monk will be working hard to identify the targets he will be hoping to bring to St Andrew's in the January transfer window, and could well be looking at a potential Derby County target as an option for his side.

Derby are in the market for Chelsea winger Lucas Piazon according to Yahoo Sport and if Piazon is available, then Monk may consider he could do a job for his side.

So would Piazon be a good addition to Birmingham City?

Garry Monk’s side have done extremely well in recent months, but their lack of depth out wide has shown over the last couple of games.

Bringing a player like Piazon in on loan would solve a lot of problems for the Blues.

If their finances can stretch to it, they should be in the hunt for the Chelsea man.

No disrespect to Birmingham, but there are clubs who have more serious promotion aspects than Garry Monk’s side.

They could go in for him, sure, but the likelihood he would move to St. Andrews is slim compared to if say Leeds or Derby looked to snap him up in the New Year.

Piazon would improve any side he joined but I feel Birmingham are at the bottom of the list of potential suitors should be move to the Championship on loan.

Potentially.

Birmingham have unlocked some attacking style in recent weeks so the need perhaps isn't as great for him as it was.

However, he'd still be a welcome arrival.
