Nottingham Forest are one of a number of clubs vying for the signature of £6.5m-rated Peterborough United striker Jack Marriott, according to the Sun.

Would the former Luton Town frontman be a wise signing for Aitor Karanka and his side?

We discuss....

Alfie Burns

I can see Marriott fitting in well at Forest next season.

Karanka needs to get a prolific striker in, and Marriott is certainly that.

At 23, his best is still ahead of him, and in a team of experienced players, he could thrive.

He fits what Karanka is trying to build.

George Dagless

They might be better off looking elsewhere.

He's a talented player but does the club need to spend that much and then potentially regret it.

Karanka and the owners want to show ambition but it needs to be tempered with financial sense.

Ben Barkworth

Forest could utilise a player of his quality to lead the line and take some of the responsibility off Ben Brereton.

The young striker would have to accommodate for Marriott by playing in a different role or be used mostly as a substitute.

However, this move would add to Karanka's forward options which is much-needed.

Chris Gallagher

Without a doubt.

Forest's goalscoring problems were embarrassing at times towards the end of the season and they need at least two new strikers.

Marriott would be ideal and he'd solve a major Forest problem.
