Premier League duo Crystal Palace and Brighton and Hove Albion are interested in signing Ipswich Town teenager Andre Dozzell, according to the print edition of the Daily Mirror (page 49, 09/01).

The England under-20 international has been a standout performer for the Tractor Boys over the last couple of years, and was linked with a £2 million move to Liverpool only three years ago, at the age of sixteen.

The midfielder has made just eleven appearances this season after sustaining a serious injury at the start of the season, but with Paul Lambert's men sitting rock bottom of the Sky Bet Championship table, a move to the Premier League could be the perfect escape route.

Reports claim that the 19-year old could be available at a price of around £5 million, and here, we discuss whether he'd be a good signing for Chris Hughton's Brighton...

George Harbey

"Dozzell is certainly a player with a lot of talent and potential, and could be a fantastic signing for Brighton.

"He's a tenacious midfielder who already possesses a lot of maturity in his game at a young age.

"He will have to work hard to earn a regular starting berth, but he could be a great signing for the Seagulls."

Jacob Potter

"He'd be the perfect signing.

"Dozzell may have had his fair share of injuries recently, but he looks to have put that behind him this season.

"If Brighton can get him match fitness and not rush him into the first-team, then this could prove to be an excellent signing for the future."

Jay Taylor

"I don't see this as a positive step for the youngster.

"It would be a good signing for Palace, but the way he plays I don't think Eagles fans would see that because of the way that they play.

"If Roy Hodgson's side falls deeper into a relegation battle, is he the player that will get them out? No, so he wouldn't play as much as he would like and it would be a waste of his development."
