Hull City face competition from rivals Derby County and Bristol City if they wish to follow up their interest in Colchester United attacking midfielder Sammie Szmodics, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

Szmodics has been in great form this season as Colchester battle for a play-off spot in League Two, chipping in with 12 goals and seven assists in 41 appearances in all competitions so far.

So would Szmodics he a good signing for the Tigers?

We discuss.........

George Dagless

"Could be.

"Hull have some good attacking players and he'd likely dovetail nicely with them.

"If they lose Jarrod Bowen it becomes even more important that they get him in the team."

George Harbey

"He'd be the perfect Bowen replacement.

"Szmodics is best behind the striker but can play anywhere in midfield, and would definitely replace the goalscoring threat left by Bowen if he leaves in the summer.

"It's good to see him finally get recognised by teams in the league above."

Jay Taylor

“I can’t see him moving to Hull – there are better options for the Colchester man out there.

“He would be a decent replacement for Jarrod Bowen who is more than likely to leave in the summer.

“I see the link, I see why Hull would want the 23-year-old, but I can’t see him heading to the KCOM.”
