Leeds United have been linked with a move for Reading FC midfielder, John Swift ahead of a potential summer switch to Elland Road according to the Football Insider.

The former Chelsea man has been in impressive form recently, which has seen the promotion-chasing Whites register their interest in signing him when the transfer window reopens.

In our latest FLW Six-Pointer, we look into this latest rumour in more detail.

Would Swift be a good signing for Leeds?

It would solve a problem position for Leeds.

They need a player that can be a real threat behind the striker, and Swift can certainly do that.

Providing he is given the service from the likes of Klich and Phillips, then Leeds would be signing a player of a high standard.

Does he suit Bielsa's style of play?

He doesn't suit their style.

Swift has gained a reputation of being a player that can be very 'hit or miss' for the majority of his time in Reading.

On his day, he is one of the best midfielders in the Championship, but he isn't consistent enough for my liking.

His work rate has a lot to be desired as well, and I can't see Bielsa wanting a player that is going to be lazy coming into his side.

How much is he worth in today's market?

He's worth at least £5m.

Swift is a proven Championship player and has been impressive in recent years. He's also a man in a good run of form, so Reading won't be willing to let him leave on the cheap.

Also, he's English and has played for England's youth teams earlier in his career, which seemingly always sees a players price tag rise considerably.

Is he capable of making the step up to the Premier League?

If he can be consistent, then he's more than capable of stepping up to the top-flight.

He was previously on the books at Chelsea in the early stages of his career, so his talent can't be questioned.

But I certainly think that if Bielsa can get him into shape and to the standard he wants, then Leeds would have some player on their hands.

Could he fill the void left by Samuel Saiz?

Absolutely.

Swift and Saiz display similar attributes and can unlock opposition defences with ease at times.

It would be a like-for-like replacement for the Spaniard who departed earlier this season and Swift is definitely a player that could fill the void left by Saiz.

He'd be the ideal replacement for Saiz.

Would he get into the Leeds starting XI?

At this moment in time, he'd start.

Leeds are currently missing a player that has the creative quality that Swift has to play behind the striker in Bielsa's side.

He would provide the creative spark that is needed to supply the likes of Patrick Bamford and Kemar Roofe with the goals.
