Leeds United are reportedly eyeing a shock multi-million pound swoop for Real Betis midfielder Andres Guardado, reports Gol Digital.

The 31-year-old has recorded 142 appearances for Mexico, and would be considered quite a coup for the Yorkshire outfit.

Would it be a good signing for Leeds? Is he what they need?

Chris Gallagher

He'd be an insane signing!

Guardado might be 31-years old but he is still a fine player. His energetic style would suit the Championship and his ability on the ball would make Leeds tick.

It's hard to imagine this transfer is realistic given the 142-time capped Mexican is so important to Betis but if Leeds could pull this off it would be fantastic for them.

George Dagless

It'd certainly be eye-opening.

I'm not sure where Leeds would play him. He's a left sided player but can be a holding player too and that is what Leeds need most.

Whether or not he'd want to play there though is another thing but I think it would be a good signing in the end.

Adam Simeoni

I like the player. Experienced and excellent out wide, the Mexican would be a marquee signing for the club, and has the potential to help fire them into the top-six.

A move would be a real show of ambition by the club.

Alfie Burns

For me, it would be a real coup for Christiansen, Orta and co.

Guardado is such an experienced player, who has consistently shown his quality over the course of an impressive career.

Yes, he is 31, but he could benefit Leeds in a similar way to Pablo Hernandez – albeit in a completely different area of the pitch.

Forget that he has no previous experience in England, this is a top quality player who would improve Christiansen’s squad.
