Wigan Athletic are weighing up a swoop for Rangers midfielder Jordan Rossiter, according to the Daily Record.

The League One table-toppers are looking at the former Liverpool player as someone who can enhance their squad and aid their promotion push to the Championship.

Would this be a good signing for the Latics?

We discuss....

Adam Simeoni

This could prove to be a solid signing for Wigan.

The Latics are chasing promotion, and Rossiter is a player with some serious talent and potential.

He hasn't been handed too many chances at Rangers, but a return closer to his native Liverpool could help the player settle, and begin to realise his potential in the coming months and years.

Chris Gallagher

He's too injury prone.

Rossiter is a fine player but he's not fit often enough.

Rangers have barely had a chance to play him, so Wigan would be taking a big risk.

Has the talent but they might need another option in case his fitness issues continue.

Alfie Burns

Injuries have plagued Rossiter’s development, and Wigan need to be cautious of overspending on the youngster.

However, the 20-year-old has an excellent reputation, and if Wigan can snap him up this month, it will be positive for the Latics.

Injury-free, he'd be an extremely shrewd addition.

George Dagless

I think it'd be a good signing.

Rangers haven't played the former Liverpool man much but he is still a talented player who's always committed to the cause.

A fresh start elsewhere might be good for him and with Wigan relatively local to his native Merseyside he might just be able to put in some good performances.
