Celtic have made Derby County's on loan Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori a target for a permanent deal in the summer transfer window, it has been reported.

Tomori has enjoyed a hugely impressive season long loan at Pride Park, making 54 appearances in all competitions and scoring twice to help Frank Lampard's secure their place in the Championship play-off final, with the 21-year-old also being named the club's Player of the Season.

Those performances have reportedly caught the attention of Scottish Champions Celtic, with The Daily Mirror's live transfer blog (16th May, 15:25), reporting that The Bhoys will look to sign Tomori permanently in the summer.

The defender still has two more years on his contract Stamford Bridge, and with a transfer ban looming over Chelsea, the 21-year-old may not be cheap.

So, would Tomori be a good signing for Celtic?

We discuss...

George Brooks "Tomori would be a good signing for Celtic. "He's a promising young player and has done very well for Derby in the Championship this season. "I'm sure Derby would love to re-sign him for next season, but that will probably depend on whether the Rams win the play-offs. "Tomori needs to be playing regular first-team football and if he's not in Chelsea's plans for next season, then perhaps a move to Celtic would be a good option for him." Toby Wilding "This could be a good signing for Celtic. "Tomori has had a hugely impressive season for Derby, and you feel that while they would like to have him back at Pride Park next season, they will almost certainly need to beat Aston Villa in the play-off final to do so. "With Rangers seemingly closing the gap on Celtic in Scotland, the Parkhead side will surely want to strengthen to keep their rivals at bay, something Tomori would help them to do." Jacob Potter "He'd be an excellent signing. "Tomori has been one of Derby's best players this season, and he evidently has a bright future ahead of him. "He could thrive at Celtic, and would be more than good enough to be a regular starter in their squad for future seasons, that's for sure."
