Andy King has been frozen out at Leicester City this season, having failed to make a single first-team appearance.

If reports in the Daily Mail are to be believed, then West Brom are looking to end his King Power exile in the new year to help their push towards promotion back to the Premier League.

Darren Moore is after a box-to-box midfielder and has earmarked the Leicester man to sustain their push to make a top-flight return after one season away.

King had been on loan at Swansea last season and could well look to make a temporary move away to get regular football under his belt once more.

The 30-year-old has failed to make a single appearance in the Premier League or League Cup this term after featuring 11 times for his parent side last year before an 11 game loan to the Welsh side.

With the January transfer window opening in a few short weeks, we asked out FLW writers if they thought West Brom’s reported move for King would be a good signing.

We discuss…

George Harbey

It’d be another experienced, sound signing, but does he really improve Albion?

At 30-years old, he joins a midfield that is ageing, the likes of Chris Brunt and Gareth Barry.

Sure, it’s good for squad depth, but this is nothing more than an average signing.

Alfie Burns

This could be really shrewd business.

West Brom have a great squad, but it lacks in some areas, and King could bring a lot to Moore’s side.

It’s the type of deal a lot of Championship sides would love to do, so it’ll be great for the Baggies if they get it over the line.

George Dagless

This is slightly out of the blue, but I sort of see it working.

I like King for the energy he brings in the middle of the park, and the Baggies have got some ageing players in that area.

He might not be the most glamorous signing they ever make, but I think he'd be an astute arrival.

Jacob Potter

He would add some much-needed depth to their midfield options.

Darren Moore needs to add further options to his side if they are to have any chance of challenging for the automatic promotion places this season.

King would be a solid signing at Championship level and would be confident of competing with Jake Livermore for one of the starting spots in the centre of midfield.
