Leeds United are among a number of clubs weighing up a swoop for clinical Peterborough striker Jack Marriott, who is rated at £5 million, according to the Daily Mail.

Would this be a good signing for the Whites? Is Marriott what Leeds need?

We discuss....

Gary Hutchinson

Obviously he'd be a great signing, anyone who gets to 32 goals in a solitary season has something about them.

Are Leeds the best side for him to go to? Constant upheaval, expectant fans and lots of pressure? I'm not so sure they're the right club for him.

Alfie Burns

Leeds need to get a goalscorer in at Elland Road in the summer, and if they look to the lower leagues, Marriott is the obvious choice.

The Peterborough forward has been terrific in League One, but there would be questions surrounding his ability to step up into the Championship.

The Whites can’t afford to take many risks in the summer after a disappointing season, which makes me wonder whether they might not pay what is required to sign Marriott.

Chris Gallagher

He'd be a wonderful signing.

The Whites are lacking a real proven goal scorer up top and it has to be a priority this summer.

Marriott is ready for the step up and has the potential to continue to improve.

George Dagless

Absolutely. He'd be class!

Marriott has shown he is too good for League One and so a Championship move surely beckons in the summer.

He needs to join a club where he is guaranteed to start and Leeds are surely in that bracket.

He leads the line well and would surely be a hit with the fans.
