Derby County manager Frank Lampard will be braced for an approach following a report in the Sun on Sunday (January 13, age 59) linking Burnley with an approach for Rams full-back Jayden Bogle, who has had an excellent season under Lampard this season.
The 18-year-old joined from Swindon in 2016 and has been a regular for the Rams this season with 22 appearances and this form has started to draw admiring glances.
So would Bogle be a good signing for Burnley?
“Jayden Bogle has impressed immeasurably since his debut for the Rams at the start of the season.
“Firmly the first-choice right-back at Pride Park, ousting Andre Wisdom in the role, he has a bright future ahead of him.
“If a Premier League side are interested, it could be hard for the defender to turn it down.
“It would be a good signing for Burnley, but I think Bogle would do better to stay at Derby and continue his development there.”
“He’d be a very good signing.
“Bogle is one of the Championship’s brightest talents and it would be a very wise investment from Sean Dyche.
“There is plenty of talent like Bogle throughout the EFL and it would be good to see Premier League clubs tap into it a bit more.”
“I think Derby fans would be delighted.
“Bogle is a decent lad, but he’s not entirely convincing as yet.
“He’s a work in progress, but where would he be best developed?”
“He’s been hugely impressive this season.
“Bogle hasn’t looked out of place in the Derby side after breakthrough to the first-team, and he has been one of their standout players.
“Burnley could benefit from having a player of his potential in their side for years to come.”
