Sheffield Wednesday are weighing up a transfer swoop for impressive striker Oli McBurnie, who is currently on loan at Barnsley from Premier League side Swansea - according to the Scottish Sun.

The Owls face competition from Leeds and Derby for his signature.

Would McBurnie be a good signing for Wednesday?

We discuss....

George Dagless

He'd be a useful signing.

Wednesday have got a number of strikers but there's a question mark over almost all of them.

I think if McBurnie signed that would almost definitely mean that the Owls are going to let some go as well.

Chris Gallagher

Yes, he's better than what they have.

The Owls need a big clear out this summer and try a new approach with their recruitment.

McBurnie would be a good start. He's scored goals in a poor Barnsley side so should excel at Wednesday.

Jay Williams

Although Sheffield Wednesday do not need any more strikers, bringing in McBurnie for a mere compensation fee would be an impressive piece of business.

Standing at 6ft 2in, he is a physical presence up top and he has netted an impressive eight goals in 12 starts for Barnsley, which means he knows where the net is at this level.

If the Owls can flog one or two forwards this summer, McBurnie would be the perfect replacement for them but he is likely to be in high demand.

This could spell the end for Nuhiu.

Gary Hutchinson

He's a proven scorer, but then so was Jordan Rhodes. If the Owls can cash in on their £10m misfit, then McBurnie would be a great replacement.

He's obviously a good player, he's young and highly likely to increase in value and he's comfortable in Yorkshire with Barnsley.

The question isn't whether he would suit them, more whether they would suit him.
