Tony Pulis has a few days left if he wishes to add to his Middlesbrough squad during the loan transfer window, with Huddersfield winger Rajiv Van La Parra a player he is keen on, according to The Sun.
Van La Parra has fallen down the pecking order at Huddersfield but Terriers manager David Wagner is reluctant to see him leave.
So would a move for 27-year-old Van La Parra be a good move for Middlesbrough?
I think so, yes. He’s maybe coming down the scale in terms of targets, he’s no Yannick Bolasie, but perhaps names are not what Boro needs now.
La Parra scored four Premier League goals last season and he’s got lots of experience in the Championship, so he’s definitely going to add value.
He might even turn out to be a better buy than some of the bigger names because he’s not coming with such a big reputation.
I’ll be interested to see how he settles.
He’d be a top signing.
Wagner has played it down but I could still see something happening if Boro push for it.
They need another winger and Van La Parra would bring trickery out wide.
It will be a good signing if the deal is sanctioned.
Boro have been after a winger since the sale of Adama Traore, and van La Parra would be a solid acquisition.
The 27-year-old has the know-how of how to get our of the Championship being promoted with the Terriers two years ago.
Pace, power and trickery would make him an instant hit at the Riverside.
