Nottingham Forest are weighing up a swoop for current free agent Javier Garrido, according to the Nottingham Post.

The 32-year-old is currently without a team but has featured for the likes of Manchester City and Norwich City in the Premier League.

Would the left-back be a useful signing for Forest?

We discuss....

Alfie Burns

This could be a good addition for Forest, with Karanka clearly looking to add another experienced body to a side that is reliant on youth.

Forest need another left-back, and a player of Garrido’s calibre could be perfect at the City Ground.

The 32-year-old has experience in English football under his belt, and could still offer a lot on a short-term deal at the City Ground.

Well worth a punt.

Adam Simeoni

Garrido is an experienced player who is well equipped with dealing with the demands of English football, so could prove to be a solid addition to the squad at The City Ground.

Karanka needs experiencing, and will get just that from the former Man City man.

Sam Preston

He'd be a solid signing.

Losing Armand Traore after the window closed meant I felt Forest needed a left back.

Otherwise, there was the chance that Aitor Karanka would be tempted to play deadline day signing Jack Colback out there and that would be a waste of his talents.

He has experience and there won’t be many better options out there as a free agent right now. It would be a good move for all concerned.

George Dagless

I'll be honest I thought he'd retired.

Garrido is actually only 32 so he's got a bit of time left in him and he did have a decent left foot when he was at Manchester City.

That won't have gone away and he's got good experience so it's potentially a decent signing.
