Celtic are showing an interest in out-of-contract West Brom defender Dara O'Shea, according to the Scottish Sun.

Former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers was monitoring the progress of the 20-year-old, and the club are still looking to seal his signature despite their former boss' departure.

O'Shea spent the season on loan at League Two side Exeter City, but has failed to make a senior appearance for West Brom since starting his career with the club.

His contract is now set to expire next month, and Celtic are reportedly aiming to make a swoop for the defender on a cut-price deal with Albion yet to trigger an extension.

So, would O'Shea be a good signing for Celtic?

We discuss...

George Harbey

"I think O'Shea is a player that Celtic could definitely do with, and he'd be a very good signing for the SPFL champions.

"I have seen him play this season, and it's clear to see that he's comfortable on the ball, and wins no end of aerial duels to his presence.

"Would he receive regular game-time at Celtic Park? It remains to be seen."

Jacob Potter

"He'd be a smart signing by Celtic.

"O'Shea is a promising talent that evidently has a bright future ahead of him, and we could see the best out of him with the Scottish giants.

"I'm surprised he hasn't been given a chance in the West Brom side this season and I think West Brom's potential loss could be Celtic's gain."

Gary Hutchinson

"It's an interesting signing, that's for sure. I always feel Celtic is a great place for a young player to go.

"They offer big game atmosphere and a unique experience which they can't get elsewhere.

"The contrast in some grounds, attendances and opposition is great for development."
