With the loan transfer window close only two weeks away, Steve Bruce will be scouring the market for players to compliment his squad.

Cardiff City outcast Lee Tomlin is a player to consider, as he's proved he can cut the mustard in the English second tier.

If Grealish suffers an injury, there will be a need for creativity to fill that void and Tomlin could be that man.

So should Bruce make a loan move for the attacking midfielder?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

It wouldn’t hurt.

Tomlin has been axed at Cardiff and is not in their 25-man squad for the Premier League season.

He would be a good option to have and would add a bit more depth in their attack, something they need.

Tomlin will want first-team football as opposed to U23 matches so a loan move away would be the most beneficial, and it should be something manager Steve Bruce should look to do.

Gary Hutchinson

No, not a chance. Lee Tomlin is not Aston Villa quality and he is not top of the Championship quality.

Tomlin is a half decent striker, a player who could impact QPR perhaps or Ipswich, but if you want promotion then he isn’t your man.

Cardiff farmed him out last year to Forest on loan, but did Forest go back for him in the summer? They brought back Colback and Pantilimon because they were loan players who can get promotion.

Tomlin isn’t.

George Dagless

Potentially.

It depends which Tomlin turns up but there can't be any doubt that he's got great quality when he is up for it.

Steve Bruce would have to weigh it up but he might be a good option to have knocking about.

Sam Rourke

Definitel - He'd be a perfect back-up to Grealish.

When he's on it, Lee Tomlin can be one of the most creative forces in the EFL.

Able to assist and score, Tomlin could be a great signing for Villa and would help provide ammunition for the likes of Jonathan Kodjia up top.

If wages could be afforded, the Villans should be pursuing him.
