With interest in Wigan striker Nick Powell not abating and admiring glances coming from the Bundesliga according to TEAMtalk, maybe the time is right for Celtic to make a fresh enquiry about a player they were interested in signing back in September, according to The Sun.

Powell is out of contract at the end of the season and having turned down a new deal at the DW Stadium, interested clubs will be encouraged to make a bid for the player.

So should Celtic re-ignite their Powell interest?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

Nick Powell may not be too keen on a move to the continent and instead might favour a move just north of the border.

Celtic have been linked, and should certainly edge towards taking another look at the Wigan man.

I see no reason why they wouldn’t want to look at Powell, he would fit perfectly into Brendon Rogers’ team.

And with other clubs sniffing around, Celtic will need to make their move before Leipzig or anyone else moves ahead of them.

Gary Hutchinson

Absolutely, yes.

He would do well north of the border and crucially, he might be able to spur them to better European performances.

He could be a Celtic legend in the making.

I wonder if he might fancy a crack at the English Premier League though.

George Harbey

I think Powell would be an excellent player in the Scottish League.

We’ve seen the likes of Scott Sinclair go from being a mediocre Championship player to become a very shrewd player in the SPL.

He’d be a great signing.
