Norwich City manager Daniel Farke can enjoy this bank holiday weekend, as Aston Villa and Derby County do battle for a place in the Premier League next season, safe in the knowledge that his Canaries will be playing their football in the English top-flight in the next campaign.
Farke is already looking at his squad to decide who within his ranks is capable of making the step-up and eyeing those he wishes to recruit, with Rotherham midfielder Will Vaulks a player who is on his transfer wish-list, according to TEAMtalk.
But would Vaulks get into the Canaries’ current starting XI?
“Not to begin with.
“I mean, the Canaries have just been promoted as second-tier champions, it will be incredibly hard for any new signings to get into their side.
“Having said that, Vaulks showed serious class in midfield last season so there is no reason he could not force his way in eventually.”
“Not for me, but he’d be a good squad player.
“Vaulks enjoyed a good season with Rotherham and showed his quality in the Championship, but he wouldn’t be breaking into a title winning side.
“But Farke is going to need some depth next season and a player like Vaulks has enough about him to bring something to the squad.”
“I don’t think Vaulks is quite good enough to cement a Premier League place at Norwich yet.
“He has just been relegated to League One with Rotherham, and although his performances have been strong, I think Norwich should be more ambitious.
“Vaulks would be a great squad player, but I find it hard to envisage him starting in Daniel Farke’s side.”
