Middlesbrough and Aston Villa are both interested in signing former Wolves and Crystal Palace star Bakary Sako, according to TEAMtalk.

Sako is without a club at the moment and is a free agent, having left Premier League side Palace at the end of the 2017/18  season.

The Mali international, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, has experience of playing in the Championship with Wolves in 2014-15.

But would Sako suit Middlesbrough?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

Yes, he'd be a cracking signing - any deal for Sako on a free would be decent for the Championship promotion chasers.

I’d like to see him at Boro too.

He’s versatile and can play out wide or in an attacking midfield role and would add depth to Pulis’ squad.

After a tough transfer window, Sako would round things off nicely.

It has been several weeks since the departure of Adama Traore, and Middlesbrough are still in the process of replacing him.

There have been several targets which have been bid for and knocked back, so it has been a problematic issue for Tony Pulis.

If Bakary Sako can stay fit, then he would be a good option. He was a powerhouse in the Championship for Wolves before his move to Crystal Palace.

There will be plenty of suitors for the winger, so Boro will need to act fast if they want to finally land a replacement.

George Dagless

Potentially.

Sako has pace and power and Middlesbrough could perhaps do with his direct style of play out wide.

Losing Traore left them with a shortage of fast players and Sako signing would help soften that blow a bit.
