Liverpool have joined Tottenham in the race to sign Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish, according to the Sun.

Would the 22-year-old be a good signing for the Reds?

We discuss.....

Chris Gallagher

It could work out.

Liverpool need a creative midfielder and he might get some game time over the season and could flourish in Klopp's attacking, high intensity style. Obviously, it would be great for Grealish to work under the German and play at such a high level.

It's also good for Villa that another big club are interested as they look to drive the price up.

Alfie Burns

Grealish is an excellent player, who at 22, has room to improve and his best still to come.

That’s something that Liverpool will be well aware of and Jurgen Klopp will back himself to help Grealish reach his potential.

In the last 12 months, Grealish’s game has matured, which is why we are seeing him linked with clubs like Liverpool.

For me, whilst Liverpool would be a good move for the midfielder, I feel that Tottenham would give him the better chance of reaching his potential.

Jay Williams

This move depends entirely on price; they could land him for anywhere between £15m and £40m-plus.

The 22-year-old is one of the Championship's best players on his day and he has the ability to dance around players with ease.

At Liverpool, he could take his game to the next level training with some of the world's best players. But should the Reds really take a £40m punt on someone who has a lot of potential but is still far from the finished article?

George Dagless

He'd be a cracking signing.

Grealish isn't ready, I don't think, to be a regular for a top six side yet but he is not a long way off.

He needs to be working under a manager that can get him there and Jurgen Klopp is certainly the man to do that.

It's worth it in the long-term.

Gary Hutchinson

Grealish is going to be a good signing for somebody, but I can't help feel he's going to be far better suited to an aspiring mid table Premier League side, rather than one of the big guns.

There's no doubt he's talented, but will he get the game time at Anfield? Would somewhere such as Everton or West Ham be more attractive, the sort of side he is likely to be one of the big guns in, not a fringe player which he would almost certainly be at Liverpool.
