Aston Villa manager Dean Smith knows he has one of the brightest midfield talents in the Championship in the shape of John McGinn, who has just been called up to Alex McLeish’s latest Scotland national squad.
Smith will be sending McGinn out tonight against Nottingham Forest as he looks to leapfrog their Midlands rivals and close in on the play-off spots.
But would McGinn get into Nottingham Forest’s starting XI?
“He’d be a certain starter.
“McGinn has been hugely impressive for Aston Villa this season and his energy in the midfield isn’t matched by any midfielder in the Championship.
“He would definitely get into the Nottingham Forest XI without a shadow of a doubt.”
“Of course, he would.
“He’d walk into any Championship side.
“There’s a few PL teams he’d get into as well.
“He’s such a talented player.”
“He has all the attributes to do so, I believe.
“McGinn has the energy and ability to be a mainstay in the Forest side if he were to ever move to the club.
“I would think it would be a pretty positive signing if it were to happen.”
