Over the course of the summer, West Bromwich Albion bid farewell to a number of first-team players as Slaven Bilic looked to reshape the squad left at his disposal by Darren Moore and James Shan.
By far their biggest departure of the summer was Salomon Rondon’s move to Chinese side Dalian Yifang, for a reported fee of around £16.5m.
Rondon spent last season on loan with Newcastle United, and the powerful forward scored 12 goals in a total of 33 appearances for the Magpies during his loan spell at St. James’ Park.
Despite being linked with a move to back to Newcastle as well as moves to West Ham and Wolves, Rondon chose to reunite with Rafael Benitez in China.
This put an end to what had been a frustrating time at The Hawthorns for Rondon – the 30-year-old made over 120 appearances for the Baggies following his arrival from Zenit, scoring only 28 goals.
But with Charlie Austin, Kenneth Zohore and Hal Robson-Kanu scoring only one goal from open play between them in the league this season, should West Brom have resisted temptation and kept Rondon?
Would he have been a regular starter under Slaven Bilic? That’s the question West Brom fans have been asked on social media, and here, we take a look at their reactions…
Tbh yes, honestly think he’d be a beast at this level
