It’s been a tricky run of form for Leeds United in the Sky Bet Championship, with the Whites drifting towards a mid-table finish under Paul Heckingbottom.

Leeds have been unable to build on a magnificent start to the season, picking up just two 2018 victories, which has left the club destined for mid-table and well adrift in the race for the play-offs.

Those two victories in the calendar year have come at Elland Road, with Leeds particularly struggling away from home.

Last time out, Leeds missed a golden opportunity to record a third victory of the Heckingbottom era, with Sunderland managing to hold the Whites to a 1-1 draw at Elland Road.

Leeds are on the road tonight, looking to get back to winning ways following a frustrating result on Saturday, when they travel to Deepdale to take on Preston North End.

Here at FLW, we take a look at TWO first-team players facing the axe at Preston this evening…

Lasogga was so disappointing against Sunderland, with the striker offering nothing in attack.

The 26-year-old looked disinterested and failed to provide the goalscoring threat Heckingbottom will have expected.

Away from home is where Lasogga struggles most, which means he will probably be out of the starting XI.

Phillips endured a tough afternoon against Sunderland, with Ronaldo Vieira much more effective in central midfield.

It has been a difficult second-half of the season for Phillips, who appears to have burnt out.

Lack of other options might save Phillips from the axe, but he hasn’t been on the top of his game recently.
