Paul Heckingbottom is still waiting for his first victory in-charge of Leeds United, after his side failed to hang on last night against Derby County in the Sky Bet Championship.

Derby twice came from behind at Pride Park to draw 2-2 with Leeds, who had led on two occasions through Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Ezgjan Alioski.

Despite the disappointment of failing to hang on against Derby last night, Heckingbottom will have been encouraged by Leeds’ performance, which was certainly the best they have played since the 40-year-old’s appointment earlier this month.

There were plenty of positives for Leeds, however, there will have also been a number of things that worried Heckingbottom, particularly Leeds’ defensive contribution, which ultimately cost them the game.

With that in mind, we look ahead to Saturday’s clash with Brentford, identifying two players from last night’s starting XI who Heckingbottom should consider dropping ahead of the weekend…

De Bock has been steady since his arrival at Elland Road, but last night endured a testing evening against a frightening Derby attack.

The left-back was caught out on numerous occasions, and was at fault for Andreas Weimann’s opening goal.

Things won’t be getting any easier for the 25-year-old, who if selected on Saturday, will come up against another lightening attack in Brentford.

Heckingbottom must be considering De Bock’s place in the starting XI, although a lack of competition could save the Belgian full-back.

Vieira looks a shadow of the player who excelled in the Championship last season, with the midfielder enduring a particularly tough evening against Derby.

Heckingbottom pulled Vieira for Kalvin Phillips during the second-half, with the latter’s impact far more impressive than his teammate.

The midfield battle on Saturday will be crucial, and Leeds can’t afford to carry Vieira.
