Leeds United manager Paul Heckingbottom is preparing his side for a crunch clash in the race for the play-offs against Middlesbrough tomorrow night at the Riverside Stadium.

The patchy form of all the teams in the race for the top six has meant that the Whites are just six points back in the hunt to be in the promotion picture come the end of the season.

That means that the match against Boro - who sacked former Leeds manager Garry Monk in December - is a huge opportunity for one of these sides to make a statement in that hotly contested race.

Former Barnsley boss Heckingbottom will be keen to have as many options available to him as possible for such a big match - televised as well - and has offered an injury update to West Yorkshire Sport.

The Verdict

The signs look good for Forshaw to face his former club, even in the midst of a busy week.

I wouldn't bet against either Roofe or Hernandez being available to add creativity but they shouldn't be rushed back.

This update does highlight what a nightmare the purchase of striker Tyler Roberts was on transfer deadline day, though.
