Despite an unbeaten start to his time at Sheffield Wednesday, manager Steve Bruce is not sitting on his laurels, with the 58-year-old already having half-an-eye on the summer, with Lee Cattermole of Sunderland a potential target, according to the print edition of the Sun on Sunday (March 10, Page 61).

Cattermole played under Bruce at Wigan from 2008 till 2009 and the Owls would be keen to take the 30-year-old on loan or in a player swap deal in the summer.

So would Cattermole get into Wednesday's current starting XI?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

“Cattermole and Bannan, there’s a midfield for you.

“Combative, full of guile and experience.

“Of course he’d go into their first XI.

“Whether Sunderland will allow it is another thing entirely.”

Jacob Potter

"He wouldn’t be anywhere near the starting XI.

"I really struggle to see what Cattermole would bring to this Sheffield Wednesday team and it would be a huge waste of wages.

"What a bizarre signing this would be."

Jay Taylor

“I think he would if Bruce wanted him – he would add some steel in the middle of the pitch – something Wednesday lack.

“I don’t think he would start every game, but I think he would be a real presence around the training ground and in the squad.

“The Owls lack leaders, and he is certainly one of those.”
