Despite contract issues continuing surrounding his own future at he club, plus takeover talks of the club ongoing, Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer is making plans for life in the Championship, following promotion via the play-offs last season.

One player Bowyer is targeting for a move to the Valley is Plymouth Argyle midfielder Ruben Lameiras who scored 11 goals and made six assists in 41 league appearances in a relegation season at Home Park, as reported in The Guardian.

So would Lameiras be a good signing for the Addicks?

We discuss........

Louie Chandler

"He would suit Charlton perfectly.

"The Addicks are never going to have a lot of money to splash in the transfer window so shrewd signings like this are essential.

"The attacker would fit perfectly into Lee Bowyer's style of slick, attacking football and would soften the blow of any sizeable losses significantly."

Kealan Hughes

“This could be a good signing.

“He is not at the same level as the possibly departing Joe Aribo, but he is the creative type of midfielder they missed at times last season.

“There is some doubt over whether he is able to make the step up to the Championship, but it could actually suit him better than League One. He will have more time on the ball and therefore greater opportunity to pick out that killer pass.”

Gary Hutchinson

“Excellent business if they can tie it up.

“He’s been growing as a player and at 24-years-old, he’s about to peak.

“He’s tricky, can bag a goal but is equally as comfortable creating them.

“He’ll get fans off their seats too, mark my words.”
