Chelsea defender Michael Hector has indicated that he is uncertain what the future holds, with his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday due to finish at the end of the season, as reported in The Star.

The 26-year-old has been a regular at Hillsborough with one goal in 22 appearances but does not know if new manager Steve Bruce will want to extend his stay at the club.

So should the Owls look to sign Hector on a permanent basis?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

"Absolutely.

"Hector's form has been a bit erratic in recent weeks but throughout the season he has shown he still has what it takes to be a top Championship centre-back.

"He would be a terrific first bit of business for Bruce."

Gary Hutchinson

“Not right now, no.

“They need to settle into the Bruce way and see what fits under the new regime.

“There’s no rush and if they do miss out, there are plenty more players to have a stab at.”

Jay Taylor

“Do Sheffield Wednesday have the money is the central question to ask here.

“Chelsea won’t let him go cheap, as they like to make a profit on the players from what they are signed for.

“If they can’t then he will move back to London and probably be farmed out elsewhere.

“If Wednesday can sign him, it would be a massive deal – he has been one of their most consistent players this season.”
