Sheffield Wednesday are lining up a move for former Wolves boss Paul Lambert, according to HITC.
The 48-year-old is reportedly in pole position to get the job at Hillsborough, as Chansiri looks to appoint someone with Championship experience.
Would this be a good appointment for the Owls?
This isn’t going to go down well at Hillsborough, as Sheffield Wednesday’s supporters will have hoped for a more inspiring appointment.
Lambert has previously done well in the Championship, but his most recent jobs across the division have proved to be a disaster.
Will Wednesday’s supporters start regretting forcing Carvalhal out? I think they might.
I think this could be a disastrous appointment for Wednesday personally.
With so much negativity around the place at the minute, including the appointment of the new CEO, the Owls need someone bringing in who is going to make the fans take notice in a positive way. Lambert does the opposite for me.
He proved his failure at Wolves with the squad he had at his disposal, and for me, he would be a shocking appointment who would only take them further towards the relegation places than they already are. Wednesday need to stay away from this one.
I get the feeling a fair few will ridicule such a move.
Lambert has not had the best last few years as a manager but has been at clubs where there’s been trouble off of the field – especially at Villa.
Perhaps I’m being over-optimistic but I think he’ll at least get the Owls going in the right direction again and won’t be such an awful arrival.
