Stoke City have had an appalling season in the Championship and their fans will be desperate to see the back of it.

Despite being made pre-season favourites to win the title, they have never even come close to troubling the play-off places let alone the top two.

Very few players have come out of the campaign with much credit at all, but someone whose stock will no doubt remain high is goalkeeper Jack Butland.

The England international has continued to put on some fine displays and is already attracting the attention of summer suitors.

According to Alan Nixon of the Sun, Crystal Palace would look to bring him in should they sell one of their current shot-stoppers.

So, would this be a good signing for Palace?

We discuss…

George Harbey

“I think it would be a class signing.

“I think he is far too good to be playing in the Championship and was baffled when Stoke managed to keep hold of him.

“He is still a very good goalkeeper, regardless of Stoke’s plight.”

Jacob Potter

“It would fix a problem position for the Eagles.

“Butland is far too good to be playing in the Championship and he would be a real coup for a team like Crystal Palace.

“A smart bit of business.”

Toby Wilding

“This could be a good signing for both parties.

“Butland will want to get back in the Premier League to boost his chances of an England return, and Palace would likely be keen to facilitate that, given their rotation of ‘keepers for various reasons this season.”
