Leeds United are in need of defensive reinforcements urgently, with the squad ravaged with injuries and suspensions.

One player who is contracted to Leeds but is currently on loan at League One side Fleetwood Town is right-back Lewie Coyle.

Leeds could do with the 22-year-old at present in their current situation, but would he walk straight into Leeds' starting eleven?

We discuss.....

Sam Preston

He would at the moment.

Given Leeds' defensive absentees, he'd be in at right back on Sunday if he was still at the club.

He doesn't start when everyone is available but Leeds don't find themselves in that position and haven't for some time.

Adam Simeoni

I think he’d be straight in at full back, I can’t believe he wasn’t recalled!

The defender has enjoyed an excellent season in League One, and will surely return to Elland Road ready to fight for a starting spot.

George Dagless

Not yet.

Luke Ayling still gets in ahead of him despite injury but after that I think he has a good chance of being number 2.

He's still young and should progress and I wouldn't be surprised to see him stay with the club for next season.

Alfie Burns

With Luke Ayling out injured and Gaetano Berardi suspended, he absolutely would.

Coyle is the future for Leeds, and next season the right-back is sure to be pushing for first-team football.

The way injuries and suspensions played out over the course of January, I was amazed Coyle wasn’t recalled from his loan spell at Fleetwood.
