Allan Campbell is capable of being a huge success in the Championship and beyond, according to QPR goalkeeper Liam Kelly.

The Motherwell midfielder is gearing up for a very busy summer indeed after being linked with a move to Millwall, Stoke City or Luton Town, as per reports from The Sun.

At 22 years of age, Campbell is at something of a career crossroads with his contract at Fir Park set to expire, meaning that now could be the time for him to move on and challenge himself at a higher level.

One man who knows the challenge that could await Campbell is Liam Kelly.

The goalkeeper is registered with Queens Park Rangers but has spent time on loan with Motherwell this term, and speaking to the press, he was quick to emphasise that the young midfielder has all of the ability needed to become a major player in the English game.

As quoted by the Daily Record, Kelly said: “I really think he can {be a major success in England}. He took me by surprise just how good that he actually is when I came here.

“I thought he was all about his energy and a workhorse but he’s got so much quality.

"You don’t actually realise it until you work with him everyday - he’s such a good player.

“I can see Allan Campbell doing really well in the Championship and even moving on again.”

The verdict

Allan Campbell would be a massive addition for any EFL club.

The 22-year-old is arguably one of the most talented young players in Scotland right now and it seems like the next step for him will be to make the move into the English game.

While it remains to be seen which club he will end up going to this summer - or if he'll move on at all - Campbell's work-rate and energy will make him a real asset next term.

If he can prove that he has the end product as well then he could go all the way.
