Leeds United face Swansea City on Wednesday evening, just a fortnight after the proposed move of winger Daniel James from the Swans to Elland Road collapsed, after the Swansea board were unable to accept the payment terms.

James looked set to make the move on deadline day having travelled to Elland Road, and completed his medical successfully but as he waited for the transfer to be announced, the news came through that the deal was off.

So in light of the transfer collapse, should Potter start James against Leeds?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

“Yes, absolutely.

“He’ll want to send a message to the Swansea fans, as well as the Leeds fans.

“It’ll be a big call to make, but he has to treat this as any other game.”

Jacob Potter

"He simply has to start him.

"James is one of Swansea’s best players and they need to be starting a strong squad against a Leeds side that could easily sweep them aside.

"James will be keen to showcase his ability to Leeds with a good performance and could be a real threat against the likes of Luke Ayling who’ll have a tough job on his hands on the night."

George Harbey

"I don’t see why he shouldn’t.

"Whether they are coming up against Leeds or not, it’s still a massive game in their hunt for promotion.

"I can’t begin to imagine the uproar if he scores."

Jay Taylor

“Why not, he is their player, they pay James’ wages, and that’s the be all and end all of it.

“Being a Swansea player means you play for Swansea, and not be left out because a move did not occur.

“He will start, just as he did against Millwall, and he will probably score.”
