It has been a memorable season so far for Bristol City, who have a Carabao Cup quarter-final against Manchester United to look forward too and sit fourth in the Sky Bet Championship.

Lee Johnson deserves huge credit for the job he has done at Ashton Gate this season and so do the players.

They secured another important away win on Saturday and managed to do so without key man Famara Diedhiou. The Senegal forward went off injured against Crystal Palace but has been replaced superbly by Milan Djuric in the last two games.

The Bosnian has come in for his first games of the season and scored two in two, including the winner at Sunderland a few days ago.

So, can he step up to fill the big gap Diedhiou will leave whilst he is out?

We take a look...

Sam Rourke

He simply has to.

The tall striker has two goals in two games for the Robins, and he looks a real handful.

Djuric is superb in the air, just like Diedhiou, and can be the perfect replacement whilst he's out injured.

Bristol City will just be hoping the Bosnian striker remains fit.

George Dagless

He's looked the part so far.

Diedhiou is obviously going to be a big miss for the Robins but Djuric has started well by scoring goals and that's all you can really ask for.

He's certainly a completely different prospect to what the Robins have had so far this season but if he and his team can use his strengths well then there's no reason why their form will be impacted too much.

Alfie Burns

The early signs are that he can.

Two goals in two appearances make good reading, but consistency will be key for Djuric.

Lee Johnson is lucky that he has Bobby Reid and Matty Taylor also chipping in with goals, but Djuric could be viewed as the man to replace the injured Diedhiou.

I have faith in the 27-year-old to make sure Bristol City do not miss Diedhiou too much.
