Despite suggesting previously that there would be no new signings in January, Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa looks like dipping his toe into the transfer market with Hoffenheim midfielder Steven Zuber a potential target, according to YEP journalist Phil Hay on Twitter.
Despite only making four appearances in Hoffenheim’s last 12 matches, the Swiss international could be a versatile addition to the Whites squad, as he is able as a midfielder or attacker on either flank.
So would Zuber be a good addition to Leeds?
“This is a strong signing for Leeds if it goes ahead and becomes official.
Steven Zuber is a Switzerland international and is still only 27-years-old.
I can see this being a worthwhile addition to Elland Road and one that could be the difference between Leeds going up and staying down.”
“Yes, he should thrive under Bielsa.
Zuber is a tidy and intelligent footballer and can also cover various positions in midfield.
He will bring quality to the team and could make the difference in the run-in.”
“At least Leeds are doing something.
The Whites need new players and Zuber carries obvious pedigree.
I think it’s definitely a signing that’s worth a go.”
