Leeds United have got a very important game to take on this weekend as they face an in-form Brentford side in the Championship.

The Whites have been struggling in recent times whilst the Bees have started to climb the league table and so Thomas Christiansen's men need to stand up.

We've been thinking, then, about who might get the axe from the line-up, with one such player being Luke Ayling. With that in mind, here's our take on whether he should be dropped...

He should be dropped, but I don’t think Christiansen will drop him.

Ayling has been caught out of position in Leeds’ last three home fixtures, and on each occasion has cost his side a goal.

Leeds need a result against Brentford this Saturday, and Christiansen’s side cannot afford to carry anybody.

For me, he should be left on the bench, but Christiansen may not want to ruin the defender’s confidence.

Chris Gallagher

No, let him get through this rough patch on the pitch.

There's no doubt he has underperformed in recent weeks. But, Ayling is a big character and a good player and will find his form soon.

He will be hurting and desperate to get back out on the pitch. There are several players who need to step up and Ayling is one of them.

Plus, the decision is made easier with the lack of depth in that position.

The issue is, who's going to replace him?

The Whites have got themselves into a real rut and the likes of Ayling need to drastically improve if they are to get out of it.

There's not as much incentive to do so as there could be, though, with a lack of real options in that right back area. Ayling will still be motivated to improve, he's a top professional, but I think he would be dropped if Christiansen had a good back-up.
