‘He should be dropped’ – Bielsa faces 19-y/o Leeds decision ahead of Ipswich: The verdict

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping his side can bounce back following a second defeat of the season, at Blackburn at the weekend, when his side face Championship basement club Ipswich Town on Wednesday night.

Bielsa has some decisions to make, in particular whether he should revert to playing Kemar Roofe through the middle rather than wide as he did at Blackburn, but in doing so it would push forward Tyler Roberts onto the bench.

But with Roofe fit, should Roberts start on the bench on Wednesday night?

We discuss…..

Jay Taylor

If he is going to be played out wide, yes.

His performance in the defeat to Blackburn was not his best and with Kemar Roofe back in the side, it saw him play in an unfamiliar position.

With Pablo Hernandez fit again and Ipswich to come in Wednesday I would expect the Wales international to drop back to the bench.

Jacob Potter

With the return of Pablo Hernandez, I would say he should be dropped.

Roberts hasn’t taken the opportunity since the absence of Kemar Roofe and I would expect him to be replaced by Hernandez who made his return to action as a substitute at the weekend in their defeat to Blackburn.

Gary Hutchinson

Yes, he should be dropped.

Roofe should play down the centre.

A manager who doesn’t have a grasp of his own squad would drop Roofe for the poor performance.

It will be an interesting team selection.

George Harbey

I think because of Roofe returning, Roberts should be dropped.

He’s been great since Roofe’s injury, but if Leeds want to recapture their form then the former Oxford forward should be put back in the team.
