With Leeds United flying high in the Championship, the last thing manager Marcelo Bielsa will want is speculation that clubs are considering moves for his prized assets, especially those that are not tied down to long-term Elland Road contracts.

At the top of the pile is striker Kemar Roofe who come January, will only have 18 months to run on his current deal, a situation that is bound to alert the interest of potential suitors.

So with his contract up in the air, should Roofe push for a move away from Elland Road come January?

No.

He shouldn’t be pushing for anything.

He should be concentrating on what he's paid to do, and contracted, to do.

He’s a Leeds player, he’s got a deal that isn’t concluding in the near future. He should be doing what he can to get them promoted and leaving the nonsense for the newspapers.

Leeds must tie down Roofe to a new deal - it baffles me how they haven’t done so thus far.

God knows what he’s thinking at the moment, if Leeds don’t offer him a new deal by the New Year then perhaps he should start looking at the Premier League.

With a clutch of Premier League clubs interest, it might be plausible that Kemar Roofe looks to leave the club after the recent reports.

He won’t be short of offers that is for sure and if Leeds want to keep him, they need to pay him what he is worth.

If they don’t it’s out of his hands and up to the club accept any offers that come in for him.

I don’t think it is in Roofe’s nature to force a move away so he might bide his time until the end of the season.
