Leeds United will have to accept the fact they'll face another season in the Championship, having fallen off the pace during the regular season to miss out on an automatic promotion place, and then to lose out to Derby County in their play-off semi-final.

As the dust settles, there is understandable nervousness amongst Whites fans as to the future of the Leeds players, who came so close to promotion this season under Marcelo Bielsa.

Tottenham Hotspur have tabled a £10 million bid for Whites starlet Jack Clarke, according to the Daily Mail, whilst Newcastle have been interested in a swap deal involving Dwight Gayle, as reported on TEAMtalk.

So with the aforementioned clubs in mind, where is best for Clarke’s development? Leeds United, Newcastle United or Tottenham Hotspur?

We discuss........

Ben Lang

“I think he needs to stay at Leeds for at least another season.

“His progress stalled somewhat in the second half of the season, which means he now needs a full campaign at the club where he will be able to find consistent form.

“His Premier League move should then follow once he has become an accomplished Championship player. Departing any sooner could hamper his development.”

Gary Hutchinson

“He needs to stay at Leeds, simple.

“He’s not going to play senior football for the other two.

“Look at Newcastle’s treatment of Murphy; he’s fluttered in and out of the side but didn’t crack on.

“Spurs would be a decent shout, but I don’t think he’d play there enough either.

“He needs regular men’s football, not Under 23 outings.”

George Brooks

"Clarke is a very talent young player and he no doubt has a big future ahead of him in football.

"At this stage of his career though, I think staying at Leeds would be the best option for his development.

"He already knows the club well, he has a good relationship with the players and the manager and has already established himself in the first-team.

"Clarke needs to be playing regular first-team football in order to realise his full potential and he has much more of a chance of that at Elland Road than he does at Spurs or Newcastle."

Alfie Burns

“The winger can’t get too far ahead of himself right now, Leeds is clearly the best place for him.

“He will be making 30+ appearances next season, and looks like he will be coached by Marcelo Bielsa once again. That kind of thing can’t be underestimated.

“Of course, everyone wants to play top-flight football, but Clarke is 18 and has time on his side.

“He’s got to give Leeds at least another 12 months.”
