Football League World's Bristol City fan pundit Colin Sutton says he has limited sympathy for young Robins forward Antoine Semenyo following the arrival of Rodri on Wednesday.

The youngster had found himself required in attack following the loss of Benik Afobe to injury, but the Spanish striker's arrival is now likely to bump him further down the pecking order.

But Sutton insists that the 19-year-old must shoulder some responsibility himself.

"I am sure that Semenyo will be little disappointed by this," the regular punter told Football League World.

"However in my opinion it is not a surprise. Semenyo is still very young, has bags of ability, however I think playing in the Championship against seasoned, quality, strong defenders along with the pace and competitiveness is just a little beyond him at the moment.

"LJ gave him chances to impress against Preston, Brentford and Reading in the last three matches, however, again in my opinion, disappointed when he had a real chance to stake a claim.

"He needs to keep learning, improving and a positive attitude as I believe he will be a great player in years to come."

This season has seen Semenyo rack-up six Championship appearances for the Robins but has failed to provide a goal or an assist in that time.

Rodri has been without a club since being released by Granada in the summer having made 34 appearances for the La Liga side, scoring five goals.

He graduated through the youth system at Sevilla before being poached by Barcelona B, also boasting experience in the Bundesliga with 1860 Munich.

Most notably, however, is perhaps the 11 matches of Championship football he played with Sheffield Wednesday during the six months he spent on loan with the Owls, netting just one goal.
