Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has been fantastic for the Midlands side since taking over the club.

The 40-year-old Chinese businessman bought the club from American owner Randy Lerner, and he has provided a sizeable amount of transfer funds to the managers of the club.

One thing that Villa fans will have noticed since Xia took charge of the club, is his social media exploits, with Xia being particularly loud on Twitter.

The owner does not hold back on social media and makes a lot of noise, but is Xia right to do that?

The writers here at Football League World have issued their opinions....

George Dagless

He's certainly left-field.

Most fans would probably like their owners being more open on social media and there is a clear love of all things Villa from him which helps nicely.

Supporters clearly like interacting with him on Twitter and he's done well to integrate himself with them, something few owners really do.

He just needs to be careful he doesn't start giving away more sensitive information.

Alfie Burns

He needs to cool it down.

There is nothing wrong with football club owners taking to social media, but not in the way Xia does.

Xia can often leave a lot to the imagination of social media, but he is also known for his outbursts, which Villa’s supporters will feel unnecessary and unprofessional.

Chris Gallagher

Many fans claim they want more honesty and interaction from those within football, then you see Tony Xia get criticism.

He can say what he wants, and usually does, and it's great for the game.

It's much better than listening to an owner delivering another cliché. At times he can go over the top, but football is certainly a more interesting place with Tony Xia.

Adam Simeoni

Of course he doesn't.

The Aston Villa owner provides fans with something most can only dream of, a chairman who personally keeps them in the loop and up to date with what is going on at the club.

It is refreshing to see this in the hush hush world of football. Keep it up, Mr Xia.
