Birmingham City supporters have taken to social media to deliver their thoughts on Alvaro Gimenez following the striker's performance in the Blues' 3-2 win at Reading on Saturday.

The 28-year-old managed to register his second goal in three Championship matches against Reading, having produced a moment of quality to give the Blues a 3-1 lead with two minutes of normal time remaining, and having scored in Birmingham's 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday a few weeks ago he is starting to show his ability in front of goal.

Gimenez had found himself placed out of the side by Pep Clotet for a few matches during the last few months, with Lukas Jutkiewicz starting on his own up front at times, with the 28-year-old having only managed to score once in his opening 15 Championship appearances since arriving at St Andrews.

The striker, though, offers more technical ability on the ball than Jutkiewicz, which could well be useful in helping the Blues continue to build the play through the thirds under Clotet, and having now managed to start scoring the 28-year-old will be full of confidence heading into the festive period.

Do you know where these 15 ex-Birmingham City players are playing now?

Having taken some time to adapt to life in the Championship the signs are starting to emerge that Gimenez can become a key part of Clotet's side during the rest of the campaign, and if he can find some form in front of goal he could help the Blues mount a play-off push.

Birmingham supporters, on the Birmingham City Football Club From The Cradle To The Grave Facebook group, have been suggesting that Gimenez is starting to adapt and is showing signs of the quality he possesses and justifying why Clotet brought him to the club in the summer.

Here then, we take a look at what Birmingham fans have had to say on Gimenez...

Marcus Cope: "Think he had his best game on Saturday, worked really hard, I did think he was just a finisher looking at his stats, don't think he is, not sure yet if he is the long term answer but he tries, so at the moment I'll go with that."

John Dilloway: "He fits the system better than Juke and looks a natural finisher. Confident he'll improve with more game time, sorry Juke."

Ian James: "He’s a bit lacking in the pace department but a decent finisher. More of a ‘fox in the box’ than a play off the shoulder’ man."

Alec Longhurst: "Yes, works really hard, I just think he needs to anticipate situations better. A bit slow to react at times, but I think he'll get there."

Phillip Walsh: "His finishing is very good. The key is to adapt to the pace of the English game. If he can do that (speed up a bit off the ball) I think he'll do well. He is an asset in the box- it's just getting him there to get on the end of chances."

Chris Bowcott: "I think give the ball in front of him, and he's a decent finisher."

Jason Wright: "He puts a shift in every time he plays and hopefully more goals will come for him."
