Signed in the January transfer window, Laurens De Bock was meant to be the answer to Leeds United's left-back problems.

But the Belgian failed to make an impression in his first half of the season, making just seven appearances and was even dropped from the squad entirely for the last nine games of the season.

The outlook is bleak for the former Club Brugge man.

But it is possible that with the arrival of a new manager brings the arrival of opportunity.

De Bock has a pre-season to impress new boss Marcelo Bielsa and try to force his way into his plans. With the Argentinian being a big fan of full-backs there is a chance for the 25-year-old.

So, will De Bock get a look in at Leeds next season?

We discuss.

Jay Williams

Unless he fits in better with Bielsa’s unorthodox system, I am not sure he has a future with Leeds.

He failed to impress after arriving last January and looks like yet another Victor Orta failure.

When the 25-year-old joined the ranks at Elland Road, I was certain he would play a big part in the reshaping and reforming of Leeds United, but it doesn’t seem to be heading that way.

With four years left on his contract, it may seem like he could feature significantly, but something tells me he won’t be adding to his five appearances for the club much next season.

Gary Hutchinson

At the moment yes, only because there's so few coming in.

He's another I'm not sure have the quality needed to play top half of the Championship, so once the squad settles a bit I can't see him being critical.

Jay Taylor

It all depends how he gets on during pre-season. He failed to score a single goal last year and with a new manager he as a reason to impress.

It didn’t work under Paul Heckingbottom last season so with a new boss de Bock could flourish in a more open attacking system.

If he fails to impress a man of Bielsa’s stature he might as well look for another club

Louie Chandler

With the rate at which Leeds have brought people in this season you would have to say he has a decent chance.

If he can put in a good pre-season performance there is always a chance.
