Nottingham Forest are performing well in the league this season, with Sabri Lamouchi's side unbeaten in eight matches in the Championship and up to third spot, only a point behind current leaders West Brom.

Lamouchi is getting the best from his squad, with new arrivals like defensive midfielder Samba Sow playing a key role in Forest's league success, having moved to the City Ground after leaving Dynamo Moscow in the summer.

So how can Sow's start to life at Forest be best summed up?

We discuss........

Ned Holmes

“I think he has been really impressive and grown as the season has worn on, he looks a class act.

“I didn’t know a huge amount about him before he arrived at Forest and at first I pigeon-holed him as just a hard-tackling, physical midfielder.

“However, as he has settled in the side I think he has proven that he has got more to his game than that.

“If he can continue to grow into the side he could be a really important player in the Reds’ promotion push.”

Chris Gallagher

"Impressive - like many of Forest's summer recruits.

"The 30-year-old has settled to the Championship with ease and gives the Reds a real physicality and strength in the middle of the park that enables those around him to flourish.

"To adapt to a new league, country and culture so quickly highlights the ability Sow has and he looks as though he will be a key player moving forward.

"Lamouchi's men look to have a new found resilience and there's no doubt that the former Dynamo Moscow midfielder has been key to that with his strength and positional play, whilst he's also decent in possession.

"A positive start and there's more to come."

George Brooks

"I've been really impressed with Samba Sow so far, especially considering this is his first season in English football. He looks perfectly suited to the Championship and he could have an important role to play for Nottingham Forest this season.

"He always works hard in midfield and he's not afraid to get stuck in. He provides Forest with some more intensity and energy in midfield. He rarely gives the ball away and he's also very good when he does get forward.

"He looks like he could be a real find for Forest. His performances over the past few games have been very encouraging and it looks like he could have a very important role to play for the Reds under Sabri Lamouchi this season."
